The Row Astra Bag Black is a soft bowling bag in glossy nappa leather, with a flat base, elongated flat handles, and a dual zipper closure. Nappa is a soft, supple type of leather, and here it is lambskin with an exceptionally soft, supple hand and a smooth surface. Lambskin comes from young sheep and is valued for being soft, thin, and lightweight. The natural leather is coated with a semi-aniline glaze and then finished with a fine sanding technique, a multi-step process that provides added protection and durability while enhancing its tactile quality and luminous sheen. Semi-aniline leather is aniline dyed, then given a thin protective layer.
Over time and with exposure to light, the leather will gradually become darker. Its soft and absorbent nature means extra care should be taken to avoid contact with solvents or liquids, which may cause irreversible staining and darkening. To clean it, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. A bowling bag takes its name from the rounded, boxy shape of bags made for bowling gear, and a dual zipper closure uses two zippers that meet along the top.
